January in Instagram photos

I was a terrible blogger in the month of January, so I'll let Instagram tell my story.

January 8th we finally packed up our Christmas gear. I got the kids' handprints to add to our tree skirt.

Abby fell asleep on me. Instagram text: Hightlight of my day. She never falls asleep on me anymore!

After Abby's bath, I really played up the curly hair. Can you tell?!?!

On January 12th, our daycare had parents' night out. A friend from high school plays with Emerald City now and they were playing nearby. So we headed out and had a night full of dancing with my parents, siblings, and some of their friends. Derek's night was MUCH longer than mine!! Instagram text: Dancin' shoes!

But before we went dancing, Grant ran into his cousin. He's got quite a shiner here. Can you tell?

Last weekend we played with the Dacuses all day. This included a trip to the park.

And just this past Thursday, Erin and I went to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. It was a great event - the museum wasn't crowded at all and they served delicious appetizers and cocktails. We learned a lot on the 2nd floor about the human body while we stalked the kitchen to get dibs on the appetizers.

Weekend fun

Saturday we showered Rachel! She will be bringing home 1 or 2 babies very soon after a very long wait! It was a camping theme. I happen to think it was practically perfect!

Today we took a walk with the kids and played outside. Derek was cleaning out the shed while we played.

Grant-isms

In the past 5 minutes Grant repeated "Whatcha doin boo?" And "Nice! Suck it!" Both he heard from his daddy of course. Big improvement from "Dawn Kiebels" a few weeks ago.

Nose-pickin'

Grant is a nose picker. He gets nose bleeds about once a week. Now he'll even say (in the middle of the nose-bleed), "That's why we don't pick our nose." Um - if you knew that, why'd you do it?!?

So today the whole house slept until 8:45. CRAZY!! And he then told us that he put a button up his nose. REALLY?!? We looked but couldn't see it. After his nap, he told us it wasn't there anymore.... but about 4, we found out that wasn't true. The button came out on it's own when he coughed. WHEW!!

New Years

We celebrated the new year in style - by going to bed at 10:30. We are so old! I did spend some time with this guy in his big boy underwear!

I decided to just wing a black eyed pea recipe. It was heavenly. Abby loved them too!

Grant did too, but he may love his tractor shirt from Rose & Papa more.

On New Year's Day the kids finally discovered how fun the tunnel that Santa brought can be.

Derek came down with a stomach bug on New Year's night. The black-eyed peas nursed him back to health though!
