Working on a post about the Easter Egg Hunt this year. In the meantime, look at all this fun!

Good Friday

Our day care closed this year on Good Friday. Our day care actually is closed quite a bit this coming year. I'm not thrilled about it. But it was nice this time because I was off of work too!

We got up, picked up Gaga, and headed to Red Oak. We played with all the "good toys" that would be put away the next day for the Easter Egg Hunt. Then we came home before naps.

Grant was AWFUL! He unbuckled his seat belt and had 3 "accidents" at home. He also threw his shoes at me. Thankfully my grandmother was there to witness how well-behaved my kids are.

During naps, I cooked dinner. And I capped off the evening with a little outing with my sis and Cassie watching Justin. The drinks were needed after the day that I'd had!

My Confessions

Back when Jenna had a blog, she would post her "confessions." I copied her once, but haven't kept it up. These are my confessions:

1. I have no idea who Doc McStuffins is. Or any other child friendly characters. Unless you count Woody, Buzz and Lightening McQueen. And Chick Hicks - who is, of course, our uncle.

2. I just bought a watch - the first watch that I've ever bought myself and my first new watch in 10 years.

3. Abby's curls terrify me.

4. I actually got teary-eyed on my way to work this morning. Jack Johnson "Do You Remember". The lyrics are "I was crazy about ya then, and now the craziest thing of all - over 10 years have gone by. You're still mine." I love that crazy man (both of them - Derek and Jack). I think it's all the planning for our anniversary trip to Napa!

5. Stepping over toys is so common that I took a long shower yesterday with a walrus on the floor and just kept stepping around him the whole time.

6. I'm crazy excited for DWTS next week. And it's my first time to commit to a full season. I went to school (and cheered) with Sean Lowe's sister, Shay, and got hooked on the Bachelor for the first time ever this season. Now he's on DWTS. But the icing on the cake? My old roommate is choreographing a piece for the results show! Yeah Nick!

Date Night

I'm a member in an organization that celebrated its 30th year. I'm not active in the organization, but when the event came up, I jumped at it. Free date night!!

The event was at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. We were there back in September 2009 on the same day we found out we would be parents. We celebrated Jesse & Rachel's wedding that night, complete with dancing Thriller!

But last night, there was open bar, food, an 80's band and Casino games! We met a couple who were involved with starting the first German immersion day care in DFW. So if you're looking for such a school, let me know!

There was also a "photo booth" - which was just a camera really. All in all, a good night that was (almost) free (had to pay for child care)!

Back to the big park

We took a quick trip to the big park again this evening.

Proud mom moment: Grant got to this area with only ropes to get down (relatively high up for him). He told me "This is for the big boys!" When I told him he could do it, he went for it and got down with ease.

I love watching Abby maneuver around. She could walk through the tube meant for crawling (although she had to duck). She's far more careful than her brother was (and more careful than he is now for sure).

Brother and sister playing together:

The park was far less crowded than it was over the weekend. But there was one child in the same area. He lingered next to Abby - she must not have liked the way he looked at her. She tried to push him from the slide next to him. We of course got onto her. And within 30 seconds, big brother came over to finish the job for sis. Here he is pushing the poor kid.

Grant played with the clock and showed that even the bigger kids land on their bottoms. The slides are really steep!

Oh Abby!

The trip ended when Grant racked himself. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Or is it "It's all fun and games until someone cries."?! Well - both work in this case.

Zoo trip with Dada

Derek took Grant to the Ft. Worth Zoo today. He was so excited to go see all the animals!

Then the boys got haircuts and got some ice cream.

St. Patty's Day

Today I met my friends for our "brunch bunch." It's always refreshing to eat and talk until we feel like we're going to pop. Today's brunch - Del Frisco's Grille. I'm sure Cat will post the full review soon! I had Chicken & Waffles - the spicy syrup was very interesting - I liked it, but wasn't expecting it. I guess I should've read the menu better.

After naps (for everyone), we headed over to the big park! The kids loved it! It was busy though, and if you lost your child, looking for one in a green shirt wasn't helpful!!

St. Patty's Saturday

The Greenville Parade was on the Saturday before St. Patty's this year, which means the Shep's annual party was the same day.
KK came down for the day and watched the kids so we were able to have adult conversations and not worry about wiping any bottoms during the whole shin-dig. It was great!

We left the Sheps around 4:30, came home & grabbed the crew, and headed over to the Dacuses for some corned beef & cabbage. It was SO GOOD!
Had to show how difficult it is to get a shot of this girl. She was trying to dance.
After the kids went to bed, we introduced KK to the cinnamon challenge and Derek & Andrew tried the banana & Sprite experiment. They took shots of Sprite after eating 2 bananas. Both felt MISERABLE but neither puked!

Playing at the house

Grant loves Mater and Lightening McQueen

Abby can always make a mess in 2 seconds flat. Clean kitchen turns into a WRECK!

Abby loves to tackle us when we lay on the ground.

Grant's new favorite activity (shown in the background above and in the shot below) is playing with his cars in the cabinet. I think it's because he can make sure Abby doesn't take them.

He doesn't mind breaking away from the cars to help Abby get a book though. So sweet.
