Easter 2010

Easter is possibly the most important holiday for my family. There are SOOO many of us that seeing everyone on Christmas or Thanksgiving is just not possible. But every year on the day before Easter, we all gather out at my parents' house for the Easter Egg Hunt. My mom prepares a LOT of colored, confetti eggs (this year, aroudn 42 dozen), which the kids hunt and then madness ensues as everyone (including adults) smashes them on each other.

This year Derek decided to make an appearance as the Easter Bunny. We wanted to cover his face in the bunny outfit - we tried a couple of masks, but nothing worked well. Derek suggested his Homer Simpson mask from Halloween 2 years ago, and it was our best bet. So the Simpsons Easter Bunny visited the Paxton Egg Hunt. He was a hit!
One girl in particular just LOVED the Easter Bunny. Faith, a daughter of my parents' neighbor, wanted to be in every single picture. You can see I cropped her out of the pic with Brett. She was so cute!!

I did get to catch up with a ton of family, which can sometimes be a challenge. Like I said before, there are SO MANY of us!

Today Derek and I organized all the baby gear from our last shower and made our way to Babies R Us for a glider. We got a Dutailier that they had in stock, so we got to bring it home with us! We also signed up for the credit card, used some 20% off coupons and gift cards, and also got some Dreft so we can start washing the clothes and linens.

Our next stop was Half-Price Books, where we sold some of my old law books. We walked out with new books ("The Zone" and "The Happiest Baby on the Block"), and enough change to get a treat at Sonic's Happy Hour!! We worked in a nap (everyone has said to sleep as much as possible now), and that ate up the entire day! If you're wondering why we got "The Zone", Derek just found out that he has high cholesterol, and his doctor recommended the book. He has a family history of heart disease, so I know some changes in our diet (and exercise) are in order.
