October 2 - Derek took the kids for ice cream on this rainy day.
October 3 - Fall party for the kids! Dinner and Chill to celebrate D's birthday for the adults!
October 6 - Making cupcakes for Daddy's birthday. I have the best helpers!
Look at how different my hubby looks after 1 year of eating healthy(-ier) and exercising!
October 9 - playing at soccer practice
October 10 - What a diva!
October 11 - We had a blast at Kennedy's birthday party! She's Abby's bff.
October 14 - I thought my kids were cute this morning before school.

October 17 - My friend's husband opened a record store in Oak Cliff (Spinster Records). We took the kids to the opening and had dinner at Bolsa.

October 18 - An evening spin on Lake Lewisville with the Hines.
October 24 - Grant needed to take something to school that started with a G. He took a guitar (awesome gift from Lolly) and then he "went to town"... especially at the end.

October 25 - 5K, followed by a soccer game, followed by lunch on the patio at Simmer, followed by pedis for the moms while the dads took care of the kids! Derek and I also went to a "Boots and Lace" charity dinner that night.

October 26 - Pumpkin patch!

October 30 - Dinner. These boys are such good friends!
October 31 - Halloween with the Bovens and the Hines!

Pumpkin Patch 2014

We took the kiddos to a pumpkin patch today. It was super-special because they got a slushy from Sonic on the way! We weren't there very long because it was PACKED! Here are my photo gems:
Right after this, Abby gave us attitude. She has this personality flaw where she knows you want her to do something and she wants to show you that you can't control her. For instance, when we said "Smile!" we got this for a solid 3 minutes:
But Derek got her a little more chipper (but she still didn't want to look at the camera):
Then the kids played on the playground a bit before we came home.
That hair of hers is WILD!!!

Just for grins, here's our pumpkin patch visits for:

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the pumpkin patch. We really got to break in the new camera. I'm still learning how to use it, and I think I'll be learning for a LONG time!

Grant liked running around the pumpkin patch. We got there right when they opened, so we were the only ones there and he could (and did) run around like he owned the place.

We tried a few posed shots:

But his favorite was watching the animals. Derek had to peel him away from watching the horses!

Coppell Oak Fest

We went to Coppell's Oak Fest today. It was our first time there, so we weren't sure what to expect. We found corn dogs, funnel cakes and sarsaparilla. We brought a blanket to lay out on, but it was definitely not a "sit and take it in" event. We'll know for next time!

Matt and Nathaniel met us out there. Before they got there, Grant got to run off some energy. Also, since it was about 90 degrees (in the middle of OCTOBER!), I tried to keep him safe from the sun.

The wagon was a good idea because our mischievous boy wanted to run around and play with generators or some other equipment he shouldn't get into. Have I mentioned this boy (like Lola) loves to eat ice? Dada shared from his sarsaparilla.

I think Grant and Nathaniel enjoyed the playground more than anything.

Grant's favorite was the wheel - he loves to drive!

And just as we were leaving, Matthew and Uncle Steve came and found us!

After Oak Fest, we headed over to Matt and Julie's for some poker, pizza and Rangers. Grant managed to lock their bedroom door with no one inside. We wrapped up poker early because we were all so tired. And the Rangers won the ALCS!
