House guest

I saw the most vibrant gecko in our backyard today and ran to get the camera before Lola chased it away by barking!I can't remember what the pink throat thing is - maybe it's a mating call? Feel free to correct me!

    It's actually an anole, and you can learn all about its dewlap here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polychrotidae

    I had one as a pet for about a year and a half. It ate crickets in my little terrarium.
